This Is Where I Belong*

A quarterly zine. A quarterly call.

Who remembers the feeling of wandering around a video-shop on a Friday evening?

Who misses black-and-white movies and rapid-fire dialogue?

Who recalls a time before the internet was everywhere?

This Is Not Where I Belong* invites you to step into the past with their new issue which is entitled Please Say Hello To The Folks That I Know, Tell Them I Won’t Belong, which is themed around the idea of “oldschoolness”

We are interested in stories which prominently feature pagers or beepers

We are interested in poems that conjure up a world before MySpace, maybe even before music streaming?

We are interested in essays on the delicate interplay of light and shadow in Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life.

We are interested in recipes that don’t rely on a fluency with the ins and outs of Google Docs.

As always, we are especially interested in submissions that don’t adhere to the theme at all, as this is definitely Where They Belong* The type of things we have featured in the past include but are not limited to poetry, essays, recipes and short fiction, but we are really happy to publish anything you can form with the written word.

Please send submissions and any queries to nobelong9999@gmail.com

As stated, The deadline is 9pm on Wednesday July 9, 2025, allowing us one calendar month to work on the issue.
